Little Miss Tenley

Warning!  This is a super long and TONS of pictures post!!!

Well I thought that it was time to finally sit down and write Tenley's birth story.  I have to say that it is SO much different then Harrison's.  For a few reason's.  First off, we have Harrison and he needed to be watch after while we were at the hospital.  Thanks to a great family on both sides he stayed with Greg's brother and his wife for the first 2 days and then with my mom for the remainder of the time.   Which was so nice to know that he was being taken care of while we were away.

Next, was the fact that it was a scheduled C-Section.  I have to say that I was SO scared.  for many reasons.  I was going to have 2 kids instead of just one.  I was going to have a longer recovery and I was really nervous about that.   I was worried about Harrison would react when we brought home a little sister and she didn't leave.  It turns out those were all of the least of my concerns, more about that later.

Harrison stayed the night before we went in at Greg's brothers house, because we need to be there early and didn't want to have to worry about anything that we didn't need too!  Well we woke up and got everything in the car and went to Walmart, kind of funny I know.  But they over charged me on cherries!  I was talking with the lady and she asked when I was due.  I told her I was on my way to the hospital and she laughed.  You came to Walmart!  Then everyone that was around there was all excited and telling me good luck.
Then it was off to the hospital to have a baby!   Yickes!!!!!  We had her at Ogden Regional Hospital in Ogden.  Which I loved!   They actually just built a new C section wing that is really nice!  Anyways, we walked in and I asked the little volunteer where to go.  She asked what I was doing there.  I told her I was here to have my baby.  She got all excited and I thought that she was going to hug me.  She told us what floor to go to.  After we got all checked in they had us sit down for a min and wait for everything to go through.  Man, it felt like hours.  I was SO nervous.  I was here to have a baby!!!

Then the super nice nurse came and got us to take us to our room.  It was so surreal and so exciting!!   The nurse took us in and told us everything that was going to happen and what we needed to do.  Her name was Grace and we had so much fun with her!  So just kept laughing at us.  I favorite thing was that Greg had to put on a jump suit for the delivery and she looked at him with a serious face and said, "Now, keep your clothes on and put this on top of them."  Now I will show you a picture of Greg in the suit!  But she has had guys some out in the unders and the suit!  Yickes...... After I was ready for the delivery, we just had to wait for the doctor.  Which he got there a few mins late.  Which again seamed like forever.  But he was worth the wait!  He is such a great doctor.

Here we are before we went in!

Attractive I know!

Then it was off to have a baby at 1 PM.  The Dr. Housel, anesthesiologist named Brian, nurse Grace and Greg wheeled me to the OR.  Before we walked in the doctor turned to Greg and said, "Don't touch anything."  Greg looked like a deer in the highlights.  He agreed and didn't touch a thing!  With this delivery, they did was is called a spinal block instead of an epidural.  Which I loved!!!!  Come to find out, I am allergic more stories later.  Brian was so good and I barely felt a thing.

Then the delivery was underway, we were all joking and talking about Harrison's birth.  Then I could feel my body being moved around and then both doctors started talking about how good my last c section looked.  They said that the doctor did really well for it being an emergency.  I felt really good about that. Then Brian looked at me and said, "She is here and she is beautiful."  Greg looked over the curtain and said, "He wasn't lying she is gorgeous."  Then Brian dropped the curtain just enough so I could see her!  She was here and she had curly brown hair and really chubby!!!!   My heart jumped, she was here!!!!  It only took 15mins for her to be delivered!

Then they took Greg and Tenley into the room just on the side of the OR and they cleaned her off and let Greg put the diaper on her and then they wrapped her up and brought her back into me.  I was so excited because I didn't get to see Harrison for a long time after he was delivered because of everything that happened. Greg actually got to carry her back to our room.

We were so excited I wanted to sit up and hold her.  I couldn't though so Greg put her in my arms while laying down.  She was So pretty, so amazing, so tiny.  I was definitely in love.  I could not stop smiling!  I mean it was not possible.  After a while it sunk in that I was no longer pregnant!  I had a baby.  It was amazing.

We asked that the only people who came to see us the first day was my parents and Greg's mom.  I was out of surgery for about 30 mins and I got a phone call and it was my mom.  She asked how everything went.  I told her everything went great and she asked if she could come see me I told her that was fine.  She said, "Good, I am down the street."  I laughed.  She came over and was the first to hold Tenley.
I think she feel love also!  While my mom was there, my nose started itching I didn't think much of it because I have allergies sometime.  I was talking to the nursing and she looked at me and asked about my nose.  I told her it really itched.  She said, "That is because you are having an allergic reaction to the spinal block.  I was kind of taken back.  I have not had an allergic reaction since I was in middle school and that was to detergent.  Needless to say, I look like Rudolf the red nose reindeer for the first few days.  With meds (that made me super tired) I was able to stop itching.

Then she had to go for her bath and to raise her temp.  She was gone forever and I was so tired I slept for a few hours and then I woke up.  I really wanted her back.  It took forever to get her back!!!  I missed her so much.

Later that night my mother in law came and while she was holding Tenley, Harrison came with my sister in law Suzie and it was so much fun to see what happened next!  I can even put into words the feelings that was in the room.  Pure love.

Then my mom and dad came up and my dad finally got to see her!

The next few days were a blur!  Lots of sleep, nursing and visitors.  Here are a few pictures!

This is one of my favorite pictures!
Greg hated her being in the nursery.  So he would have her on the cot next him during the day and then we would put her in the nursery at night.

Pictures before we left the hospital.

SO tiny!  So fun!

A day at the train station

Back before Tenley was born, my parents were going to take the grandkids to the Union Station in Ogden.  I was working that day so Greg went to help with the kids and here are some super fun pictures.  (I have to say that I am usually the one that takes the pictures so Greg didn't really know how to use our camra)

A little update! More to follow!

Hello!!!  We are still here!  I have to say that we finally got internet and we finished most of the basement.  SO life as we know might be able to go on.  That basement was going to be an over night thing and instead it turned into a complete of haul.  But I have to say that I love i
No on to the fun stuff.  I can't believe it, Harrison turned 3!!  I wish that I could say that I have all these pictures of his party, but I honestly done even have one.  It was super crazy as we just moved and there was boxes everywhere and no where to sit.  This next year I will make up for it and do a super fun party.  He did have a dinosaur party complete with lava cupcakes and dinosaur egg cupcake!  Once again no pictures (dang!).  It was crazy with tons of craziness and kids having a blast!

Tenley, Tenley..... well, she is almost 6 months and I can't even believe it!  She is SO much different then Harrison.  Harrison was a mellow, calm, relaxed child.  Tenley is all girl and loves attention.  However, she is more like me every day so I know I deserve every min of it!  She is getting into that super fun age where she is talking all the time and she is trying to roll over.  I think she would have already done this if she didn't want to be in my arms about 90% of the day.

Greg is doing well at his job and loves it!  I am very happy that he enjoys a not so glamorous job.  But because of it we have been so blessed and I am so grateful for that man!  In our new ward he was called to be the first couselor in the YM's and loves it!  He has such a great group of boys.  We just had them over for a game night and it was SO fun to have my house filled with the boys and all the noise.  I have to tell you it was mighty upsetting for Tenley.  She doesn't like to much noise!  Silly girl!

As for me...... I am slowly getting the house in order and now that we have our basment mostly completed I get a craft room!!!  HURRAY!! I am so excited.  I can't wait to get back into my crafting!  As for me, I was just called to work with the activity day girls!  I can't wait!  I have never worked with them and I sure they will be a blast.  I hope to have pictures of the house soon!

I have so many things to update you on and I can't wait!  Stay tune for the many things that have happened since we moved!

We are still alive!

I have had many friends and family asked if I am done with my blog...  No way!!!  I love you all too much to do that to you.  BUT.... if you didn't know, we moved!  I have to tell you, moving with 2 kids is tough.  Especially with our sweet little girl who just screams all the time. Well here are some of the details, we moved to Brigham city and we LOVE it here.  The ward is great and our neighbor's are super friendly.

The house is so awesome and bigger then we ever thought that we would be able to afford right now.  It is 3 bedrooms soon to be 4 and just under 2500 square feet!!  We have tons of space to have friends and family over.  Hurray!!!

Right now our house looks like a bomb went off due to some problems with the basement remodel.... When we bought the house there was awful I am awful carpet in the basement.  Well the sellers were offering a $2500....YES!  A $2500 carpet allowance.  We were Super excited and we wanted to do the upstairs....  Well we looked under the carpet and guess what?!  There is amazing hard wood floors!!!   So we thought that we would just do the basement carpet instead.  Well we opened a can of worms, well.....actually termites.  Yep, you read that right.  We had termites....  then we thought while we are doing all these things we should just get all of the other stuff done.  Then we found a tiny bit of mold....  The joys of an old home and remodeling.  We are in the process of pulling some water pipes out and capping them off and then it will be on the up hill.  Washing walls, installing sheet rock, painting, and finally carpet!  Then the amazing pictures to come!!!

Next, we plan to do the kids rooms and then ours!  I can't wait to to take a ton of pictures for you all.   My memory card has been full and I can't find my cord so soon!!!  I hope everyone is well and I miss telling you about our crazy little family.  So much to update you all on!!
